The present project is intended to be submitted as part of the FAPESP BIOEN Program in the Division of Ethanol Applications for Motor Vehicles: Otto cycle engines and fuel cells (http://www.fapesp.br/en/472).

The present proposal is been submitted to FAPESP using the FAPESP Research Partnership for Technological Innovation (PITE) type 2 which is directed for "low risk of technology development and commercialization, incremental research". This PITE type 2 presupposes FAPESP financing near 50% of all research funds. The remaining 50% should be invested by private companies. 

This agreement objectives to conduct a "Estudo de Análise das Lacunas dos Biocombustíveis na Aviação" (Study to Analyze the Gaps of Biofuels for Aviation) which is exactly the objective of the present proposal. The full text (in Portuguese) of the FAPESP/EMBRAER agreement is presented in the Annex of the present proposal.

The medium to long term goal is to use the results of the present "gap study" as a base for the creation of a FAPESP Center for Research, Innovation and Diffusion (CEPID) (http://www.fapesp.br/cepid/) which will along the following 10-11 years to conduct research to overcome the gaps identified in this study.
